It is bulky 180lbs is on wheels. The lat bars was the most difficult part of installation. It is a wonderful workout! I love the adjustable glideboard which sets it apart from other home Total Gyms. It does help to have used the Fit Total Gym for a year first. I like having a professional Gym in my home gym. I especially like the pt rehab background of Total Gym. The lat bars give flexiblity vs Fit fixed position. I love the black color and smooth rail system. I love that it has 22 levels and last for years to come a real muscle building machine!!!! It’s also great I do not have to put in a stack weight machine in my backroom and support that weight.
Awesome home gym .
As someone who has exercised and lifted weights their whole life, I decided to seek out a piece of gym equipment that would allow me to save time from driving to a gym to get a full workout. I can do that on this machine. I am also an Army Veteran, married, working on a second master's degree (I am middle class and hardly make enough to keep up with inflation... I am your average Joe so to speak... this gym was an investment for me) and a father of three working full time with limited time. Another reason why I wanted a home gym to save me from a monthly membership and driving to and from the gym after an exhausting day of work. I have set many records and am familiar with training for endurance and strength. At nearly 40 years old, I still can bench press over 315lbs, comfortably run a sub 6-minute mile (achy joints and all lol). In my prime, I was running a 4-minute mile and doubling 405lbs on the bench press. I only share this to emphasize the extent of how seriously I take training/fitness/health. Also, to provide a bit of context. At this stage in life, I am trying to maintain my overall health and fitness. I have never taken steroids or used supplements. I also have an all plant-based diet (I practice veganism). I want to push my body within its limitations and not add anymore excessive wear and tear than I already have as I age. I am able to maintain my build and get just as much of a pump and intensity/challenge on the Elevate Encompass than I can in a typical gym. I prefer it and allows me to go through a full range of motion while working around some of my aches/pains. It requires me to actively engage my core, which I wasn't doing on most gym equipment. Summarily, I am working out more muscles during my workouts than typical by having to engage my core through many of my exercises. I purchased the Elevate Encompass after purchasing the Total Home Gym G3. After having a VERY positive with an entry level gym, I decided to opt for this industrial/premium version due to the substantial build quality and increased resistance/height. Overall, I am more than pleased. However, the smaller Total Home Gyms are easy to get to the cable grips and get on and off of. That's why I gave the Encompass 4 out of 5 stars... I have to do a lot of stretching, climbing, and leaning to use the machine at 5'8" tall. This was not an issue for the much less costly THG G3. I do not regret this fine piece of machinery at all. However, the Evolve would have been a better fit for me. Overall, I am looking forward to getting many years of effective exercise and use. I most definitely would recommend it for anyone desiring a premium piece of home gym equipment that truly enables you to work out nearly every part of your body. Sometimes my weight is not really enough to challenge myself (e.g. seated row), but once I start isolating, I can challenge myself, which is more than fine with the variety of exercises I can do to maintain where I am at and hopefully age gracefully as I continue my life-long fitness journey. I wouldn't say this machine replaces everything, but it comes much closer than much of the equipment I have trained on in a relatively compact form factor that can conveniently be stowed away as needed at home. This gym is heavy and gets delivered by a freight truck. It can get banged up a little in the process. Total Gym also accepts no responsibility for the unit once it ships and is released to the carrier. This is concerning if you read through their policies. My unit had some scuffs, etc on it, but still fairly pristine when I got it. Nothing that affects its functionality or is a significant stressor. I just typically like new purchases to appear new as I take care of what I have and want it to look presentable. I received it in a reasonable amount of time and the staff was helpful in getting me an awesome price match during the Black Friday price match specials. It was easy to set up, but keep in mind this equipment is heavy. It is easy to roll around, but when adjusting the height/resistance while using it, it does take more effort than the smaller home gyms. I also have to climb all over it (due to the large size) to get in and out of exercises as I alluded to earlier, which is a little inconvenient... I just consider this part of the workout lol. It is a sturdy, simple, and well-built machine that I greatly appreciate. I am surprised more people don't own these (Total Home Gyms in general). I came across reviewers making fun of these and after my experience found it was just bad advice. I highly recommend a Home Gym to anyone who is looking to build muscle, health, fitness. I will be promoting this product as people inquire on my fitness journey and how I keep myself in optimal shape at my age. If you take your fitness/health seriously, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you acquiring the Total Gym Encompass Elevate... even if you have to spend a little more than you typically would. Health is an investmen
works great!!!
